Legacy High Students Petition to Replace Lockers With Charging Stations

Legacy High School students have launched a campaign to eliminate hallway lockers in favor of wall-mounted phone charging stations. “We don’t carry books,” said senior Ava Green. “We carry emotional baggage and dying iPhones.”

The proposal includes UV sanitizing slots, aromatherapy mist diffusers, and Spotify access during third period. Parents are skeptical. “When I was in school, we didn’t charge our phones—we charged through life!” yelled one nostalgic dad.

The district is considering a compromise: lockers with USB ports, glitter panels, and Wi-Fi strong enough to post TikToks before the bell rings.

Hi, I’m Sigrid Bjornsson — 16 years old, honor roll student, and unofficial court jester of Legacy High. I write satire because roasting reality is cheaper than therapy and slightly more legal. If something ridiculous happens in the cafeteria, on TikTok, or in homeroom, chances are I’ve already turned it into a joke... and possibly a scandal. I grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, in a bilingual household where sarcasm was our third language. My writing style? Think George Carlin meets your abuela after she’s had her coffee and found out you lied about your grades. I run the underground column for the Dead Coyote Gazette, our school’s most banned newspaper, and I’m working on a screenplay where the prom queen is replaced by a mop with better leadership skills. When teachers say “watch your tone,” I take it as a compliment. And when people ask if I want to be a professional comedian, I say, “Why limit myself? I plan to run for president and turn every press conference into a roast.” My motto? If I’m not getting detention, am I even doing it right? Want to see the world the way I do? Just squint, laugh, and never trust a motivational poster. Sigrid.Bjornsson@legacyleopards.com
